Former Boston Bruin Rick Smith was a good friend of Ace’s; in fact he was Ace’s best man when Kathy and Ace were married. Since 2002 when we first brought Rick for a tour of the Floating Hospital to show him our plans for “Ace’s Place,” Rick has regularly visited the hospitalized children at the Floating. Whenever he comes to Boston from his home in Ontario, which is a few times a year, he makes time in his schedule to drop by and visit. Rick is a soft-spoken, thoughtful and kind gentleman, and he spends one-on-one time with the kids who truly enjoy his visits. These photos are from the one time he let us come along and photograph.
