To anyone who regularly attends our “Face Off for Ace” celebrity dinner and auction each winter, the name of Dr. Ivan Franz has become synonymous with the Floating Hospital for Children. Dr. Frantz, a neonatologist, has not only been a guest speaker at the dinner and a loyal friend to the foundation, but also over the years has auctioned off a ride in his vintage Porsche race car around the track at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. A ride in his race car is an experience that’s fun, terrifying and exhilarating all at the same time. If you enjoy white-knuckle experiences, this is for you. In the past two years John Kieley and Dan Scully of the Vintage Racer Group, who hold a racing event each spring at the speedway, have turned Ivan’s race car rides into an event. During a break in the racing many of the drivers offer rides to anyone who wants to take a few laps around the course at high speed. All the proceeds go to the Ace Bailey Children’s Foundation.
