The Ace Bailey Children's Foundation is currently raising money to fund programs to support families and their babies who are being treated in the Floating Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The Floating's tertiary care NICU is nationally renowned for providing the finest care to new born infants. The lives of tiny premature and often critically ill babies from all over New England are saved in this unit on a daily basis. The overwhelming majority of these babies grow to be healthy, happy children. The medical staff encourages parents to take full part in the nurturing and care of their sick and at-risk babies, but this requires that the unit provide additional state-of-the-art monitoring equipment, as well as comfortable spaces for quiet private time for parents and their babies.
